The SEVEN SMALL paintings coming up were painted in 2020 - They’re sized between 10 x 10” and 14 x 14” — Smaller means less expensive. These small gems are priced around $100 more or less. —

Think about two or three to make a grouping. They look good together or in another grouping of dissimilar paintings for contrast.

SOLD

10 x 10” acrylic abstract on canvas. I think this little painting is really “cool” - It’s got a Canadian/Arctic feel to it with even a hint of the Northern Lights. No gold border on this one. — $150 CN Plus Shipping

SOLD

10 x 10” abstract on canvas - The colors in the photo of this painting didn’t come out exactly as they should have. The blue is more of a blue/green (emerald green) The the rectangular shape on the top is more creamy color with hints of the green. It’s outlined in bright shiny gold and the combination of colors is really nice. — $120 CN Plus Shipping

PORTO - 2010

10 x 10” abstract acrylic on canvas - This is a really neat little picture. I did it in an abstract workshop this winter and I’m very pleased. It’s simple, but has a lot of interest and movement - also some mystery. Again, the photo doesn’t show the exact colors. The blue is more of a grey/green and the angular shape is more of a pinky/brick color. There’s lots of texture in this painting which definitely contributes to the appeal $150 CN Plus Shipping

Bohemian - 2020

This little 10 x 10 acrylic is pure Whimsy! A charming character playing a “banjo” and in the other hand, a yoyo. It’s just plain fun, and if you hang it on your wall, he’ll make you smile every day.

Too Much Love - 2010

12 x 12” acrylic on canvas. This picture also is outlined in gold. Unfortunately, the gold doesn’t show on three sides. My fault in editing the photo of picture. — Please remember looking at these small abstracts that they can be turned any which way that you like. I often sign the back and attach the hanging wire only to realize I like it better upside down - or sideways. $150 CN Plus Shipping

NOTE: Hanging your painting . . . . Often, but not always, an abstract can be hung upside down from the way it was painted . . . or Sideways, and for this reason many abstract artists don’t sign their names on the front of the picture. — As for me . . . . I’m so thrilled to have painted these pictures that having my name “Naveta” on the front just made it even better. But, I’ve gotten over that and now mostly sign on the back giving the new owner the choice of how the picture gets hung.

Another small picture I did in a workshop in Florida. Most of these I didn’t like at all when I did them, but have come to like them a lot with time. — Must have been having a Negative week. Again, this picture would look great enlarged to about 30 x 30”.

Note to Self: Must remember to do this long, cold, dark winter when I can’t go to Florida.

SOLD

12 x 12” acrylic on canvas - This highly textured painting is exuberant and a good combination of organic and inorganic shapes. This whole series is bordered in gold paint which ties them all together and gives them a bit of glam. This work gave me a lot of trouble. I worked days to get to the point where I could say - “yes, it’s finished finally.” There was always something missing, but when I added the swirly linear marks leaping to the sky, that made the picture. Hope you like it. $150 CN Plus Shipping

IMG_4939.jpeg

SOLD

12” x 12” acrylic abstract on canvas - Lots to look at here. You won’t get bored, and the colors are delightfully refreshing. I’ve used a fair number of greyed colors in this picture along with a lot of brights. The grey tones make the brights even more vibrant. $175 CN Plus Shipping

I want it All - 2020 SOLD

A simple painting, 12 x 12” on canvas - I just realized that I did this painting over . . . sort of. Rather than Anjou pears, I changed to Russets - So pears are no orangey/ochre, and the background is mottled greenish with orange undertones.

It’s hare to believe looking at this picture now, but it gave me a whole lot of trouble. There are so many layers and colors on the sunflower that in the end it created quite an interesting texture, but the flower was yellow, orange, yellow/orange, and then surprisingly (to me) . . . Blue.

SOLD

12 x 12” acrylics on canvas. — This is a nice little pair of paintings that will brighten any wall anywhere in your house. I painted them over a year ago when I was renting a trailer/cottage on the beach in Florida. I was all alone and very happy watching the pelicans, dolphins, and manatees.

The blocks of color and black I think are quite effective.

This is a nice landscape that Arthur and I bought on a trip south, on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, I believe. I decorated one of our guest rooms in Hill House around these beautiful colors.

Naveta’s SPANISH SERIES 2019 -

This group of pictures resulted from a fabulous trip to Spain I took with my oldest friend, Sue, from High School days.

We stayed a month in a fabulous town north of Barcelona. Everything we needed, or could desire, was within a few steps of our interesting apartment. The Mediterranean right across the street. Farmer’s Markets every day right around the corner and great restaurants on all the Pedestrian Only streets. Also, in between our apartment and the sea was a wide “thoroughfare” for people, festivals, markets, and dogs.- (no cars) It seemed everyone in the large town had a gorgeous dog and loved to parade them on Sundays. It was sheer heaven.

So, when I got home I was really inspired by Spain and I began a series of paintings to express those feelings. I think I painted at least 15 pictures - all very recognizable as a Series. — Funny, though, one thing our Spanish paradise didn’t have was art galleries, and the paintings that resulted from this trip are not at all recognizable as particularly Spanish - Other than the texture in all of them indicating antiquity.

SOLD

16 x 16” acrylic on canvas by Naveta - I like this painting. In fact, it inspired a few more in a similar format. One of my early lessons in abstract painting was to “sometimes” leave a Quiet Space. I did that here, and it really adds to the appeal of the picture.

Catalonian Dressage Pony - 2019

12 x 12” acrylic on canvas - framed - Artist: Naveta. This is an interesting small painting - particularly if you are a fan of horses (and who isn’t I say) - Lots of movement, mystery, and texture.

This is a nice, cheerful, small painting I did in a workshop in Florida. Sometimes the instructors want you to paint fast and loose which was the case here. At first I wasn’t too pleased with the painting, but as often happens, it grew on me. Which, I must say is far far better than the opposite; that is, liking it at first and experiencing a cooling of ardor later. —- I still like it, and think it would make a dynamite BIG painting, which is something I’ll keep in mind for my winter schedule.

SOLD

24 X 30” mixed media acrylic on canvas - Artist- Naveta. A fun painting encompassing all the things I love - horses, flowers, music - Lots and lots of texture as in all my Spanish series. Galloping, jumping horses, blooming sky-reaching flowers, and the classical music tribute to my late husband, Arthur. Top left is the music, and bottom right is a drawing of Paul Revere - real name - Apollus Rivoire

St. Felieu - 2019

24 x 30” mixed media acrylic on canvas - Look at all those layers. This painting was intended to be a pure abstract, and as is my style, I don’t mind working over a painting until I am happy with it. This one took a lot of reworking. And when I was near finishing, I painted some black lines around the orange shape in the middle, and . . . . “Lo and behold”, I had a building. Was it a barn, house, or church? Old mill maybe? - The black smudged shape that looks kind of like a cross was there from the beginning, so I guess I painted a church.

IMG_5299.jpg

20 x 20” mixed media on canvas by Naveta - Abstract painting that took its name from the “smokestack on top left. I would enjoy having just about any of these paintings in my house . . . . In fact, I do have at least one. That’s one painting out of the 92 original paintings I have in The Charming Cottage where I live. It is really a cottage, but the 92 paintings + lots of photographs are not crowded and they’re on my walls because of the enjoyment they bring to me.

EXALTATION - 2019

16 x 20” acrylic on canvas. Artist: Naveta - So many of these paintings done in 2019 have a little Fjord Horse somewhere in the picture. Thats what I was doing in the winter of 2019

CONTRASTS - 2019

18 X 24” mixed media acrylic abstract on canvas -

This is one of my favorites from the Spanish Series. I think it’s a STRONG painting. The contrast I speak of is the images of skyscrapers in the middle with the ancient “onion domes” on either side

$575 CN + shipping

IMG_5302.jpg

12 X 12” acrylic on canvas. A little picture but a lot of power and interest. More of the fascinating onion dome architecture and the strong but muted colors. This picture turned out to be further muted by the snowflakes heavily drifting down.

Hogwart Chapel

30X30 “ acrylic on canvas. How do you like this one?

It’s funky and is growing on me. I have it hanging in my “Actual” gallery and every time I pass by, it intrigues me and makes me smile. — It’s another painting that got worked and reworked. — Oh . . . and it’s a painting that I just let it all hang loose and experimented. First by using a long handled acrylic brush taped onto the fiberglass shaft of an arrow. This was new to me, and I even tried painting left handed. — I never read the Harry Potter books but did see the first movie, and one of my granddaughters spent the summer at the farm reading a H.P. book. — The painting is just funky enough to be interesting but not objectionable, at least to me. $800 CN.

24X30 acrylic abstract on canvas. This is quite an old painting, but I’ve resisted adding it to my “These have to find new homes” groups each year. I probably did it about 2014-15 —- But, it has stood the test of time. It continues to give me pleasure. There’s a lot of complementary colors and texture as well as tons of MOVEMENT.
