SOLD

- 16x22 acrylic on canvas by A. Rivoire - I always said that Arthur should have been an architect. He loved the shape and geometry of buildings. He loved to design buildings, and he did quite a lot of that just for fun. Except, when he designed our gorgeous HILL HOUSE. That may have been a lot of fun for him, but he was deadly serious about designing a beautiful house to live in. And he did that, and we enjoyed many years in that nearly perfect home.

GIFT OF MARRIAGE

55x38” acrylic on canvas - FRAMED - artist: E. Arthur Rivoire - My husband, Arthur, did this wonderful painting for me soon after we were married. It’s such a mystical, calm, peaceful, almost oriental themed painting - Not really reflective of our marriage which was anything but calm and peaceful. Happy it was thrilling and exciting, but never “peaceful”. $3,000 CN

Bridge in Winter

artist: E. Arthur Rivoire - 20x24” acrylic on canvas

Wonderfully clean, bright, vibrant painting with Arthur’s recognizable love of architecture. It was only in his last years that he began painting curved lines as he did in his Music Paintings which I am not ready to sell as yet, but someday will have to as our children don’t have big enough houses . . . .

Arthur was a lifelong artist, but didn’t begin offering his work for sale until his last years, and then they were snapped up by art lovers. I remember him telling me to look for all the colors in snow . . .

IMPACT ! -

38X38” acrylic on canvas - framed.

This beautiful painting hung in our dining room for many years when we lived . . . first in France, then in in New Hampshire. When we moved to Nova Scotia, the painting held “pride of place” in our Library for 30 + years. Now it’s in my art gallery against a blue/grey wall, and it hasn’t lost its IMPACT.
