Places To Go

There are all sorts of restaurants to choose from in the Antigonish area. The best “fine dining’ is at Gabrieu’s Bistrot. Mark Gabrieu is a true master chef. He’s the caterer of choice for all the big receptions here, at the university and elsewhere. Mark travels the world doing culinary tours and wine trips — we highly recommend this restaurant.

Another favorite of ours, although totally (and I mean TOTALLY) different is The Tall and Small Café. — Open for lunch, and coffee and pastry in the morning. It’s kind of a hippie place, but don’t let that put you off. — EVERYBODY lunches at the Tall & Small. The soups are the best, and the sandwiches superb. Not only delicious, but healthy. You can feel the glow of health as you eat this food. — Arthur and I love it, and so does everybody in the area. — You see plenty of hippies, artists, young moms, middle agers, and seniors. — Everybody is warmly welcomed and fed well. — Their coffee is Fair Trade and tastes like coffee should. And I adore their muffins.
